Skye Distillers To Visit

Here on the Isle of Skye we are lucky to have so many good distilleries of gin and whisky. These distillers offer tours and tastings to all visitors (you are best to phone up and check before you visit)

Torabhaig Distillery

Pronounced Toravaig. This distillery is on the south side of the island and is between Broadford and Armadale. The second ever licensed Single Malt Scotch Whisky distillery on the Isle of Skye.

The 19th century building has now been fully restored to hold the gorgeous copper stills and traditional wooden wash backs that should allow them to produce whisky here for the next two hundred years.

Offering distillery tours all week – booking is required.

Talisker Distillery

Talisker Distillery is the oldest working distillery on the Isle of Skye and is set on the shores of Loch Harport with dramatic views of the Cuillins.

With different tour options available, starting from £15 per person – booking is required to ensure that you get the experience that you are looking for.

Only a 50 minutes’ drive from the guest house.

Misty Isle Distiller – Gin & Vodka

Thomas and Alistair Wilson were raised on Skye and formulated plans to give up their ‘day job’s and dreamed of creating the first gin distillery on the Isle of Skye. Now they have branched into the vodka market.

Misty Isle Gin School offers customer the opportunity to create their own gin and take it home with them – a truly memorable experience from Skye. Booking is required and the experience is only available every Wednesday and Friday.

Based in Portree and only a 50 minute drive from the guest house.

Isle of Skye Experimental Spirits – Gin, Vodka, Rum & Whisky

Based in Kyle of Lochlash. Offering micro-distilled gins and other spirits that are made in the distillery just next door to the main shop. This smaller distillery and shop also have tastings and allow the opportunity for you have smaller bottles of gin produced on site.

Also offering a range of different Scottish spirits including gin, rum, whisky and vodka

Only a 5 minute drive from the guest house, just back across the bridge to the mainland.
